Assoc. Prof. Levent Bilgili from Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University gave a lecture about “Ship-origin Air Pollutants and Greenhouse Gases: Causes, Effects and Ways of Prevention” on 02/02/2024. In the education program attended by DEHUKAM researchers, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Levent Bilgili gave information about the types and differences of ship-origin air pollutants and greenhouse gases. Within the scope of the education programme, the effects of ship-origin pollution within the framework of the regulations in MARPOL Annex VI and solutions to prevent and reduce such pollution were discussed. Assoc. Prof. Levent Bilgili also emphasized IMO’s and European Union’s greenhouse gas strategies and targets for the prevention of ship-origin emissions.
