Türkiye has updated the toll through the Straits, in alignment with the rights recognised by the Montreux Straits Convention. The fees received from ships passing through the Turkish Straits were increased by another 8.83 percent to $ 4.42 per tonnage. Accordingly, in 1983, the fee was “$0.8063” updated to “$4.08” with effect from October 7, 2022, and on July 1, 2023, the net tonne unit used in determining the Bosphorus transit fees, has been increased to “$ 4.42” with an increase of 8.3 percent.
