International Law of the Sea Summer Academy Organized in Cooperation between DEHUKAM, Kadir Has University and Centre for International Law-National University of Singapore Started

International Law of the Sea Summer Academy, organized in cooperation between Ankara University National Research Center on Maritime Law (DEHUKAM), Kadir Has University and Centre for International Law-National University of Singapore, has started. On the first day of the academy, the opening speeches were made by Amb. Tommy Koh and Ambassador Burak Özügergin, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the North Eastern Mediterranean. Then, International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea Rt. Judge Ambassador Helmut Türk gave a lecture on “Continental Shelf Beyond 200 Nautical Miles”. Approximately 30 international court judges, academics and practitioners will give lectures within the scope of the academy, which will last three weeks and in the last week of which diplomats and bureaucrats from the Republic of Congo and the Republic of Cape Verde will participate, by the support of TIKA.
